However, a virtual touchpoint creates an immediate and engaging connection with the patient to understand what's going on (and may actually resolve the entire concern). Dentists use the virtual visit to help address the issue immediately, for instance by prescribing an antibiotic, and to coordinate care if the patient needs to come into the office.
By keeping the patient out of the office for that first touchpoint, our partner dentists don't need to use PPE or infection controls for the visit. Not only that, if a patient's case simply requires reassurance and an at-home management plan, that patient doesn't need to come into the office at all.
